If you work in recruitment, either as a recruitment agency, solo recruiter, or work in a support role like us, you should never miss the annual Recruitment Expo.

This year it’s taking place in London at the Excel Centre, making it one of the biggest events to date. If you haven’t attended before, or are trying to decide if it’s worth your time, let us explain what a temporary recruitment agency can get out of it.

Don’t think we’re getting paid for this either! This is one of the biggest events of the year for us too, and we’re always recommending it to our clients and peers.

What to Expect at the Recruitment Expo 2026

There will be three types of attendees at this year’s event. First will be the visitors, agency owners and their teams who are looking to learn more about the latest goings-on in the industry from some of the best in the business.

Trying to catch their eye will be over a hundred exhibitors, talking shop and demonstrating their latest innovations from their exhibition stands. They range from other recruitment agencies, companies offering support services, and software developers whose products can help you to succeed.

This is the main draw for the event, as they can gain a lot of insight into their developments, and drive interest for their business. It’s mutually beneficial too, as we’ll talk about in a moment.

Last but certainly not least are the speakers, whose insights are always the highlight of any recruitment event. We try to keep our finger on the pulse as much as possible and keep our clients abreast of any changes, and attending these events is the best way to learn what’s new and changing in the world of recruitment.

How Expos Benefit Temporary Recruitment Agencies

Some agency owners shy away from these events because of their ‘competitive’ nature. Although it is true that you’ll be surrounded by agencies who are your rivals, there is a lot of value to be gained from these events, so much so that you should never skip them.

While working hard in your offices, it can be easy to miss what’s going on in the wider industry. You might grab a coffee with a peer every now and then, but the insight you’ll gain is minimal, and they could even be making mistakes that would be terrible to emulate.

At the Recruitment Expo, you’ll be surrounded by success. If you’re a new agency, you can learn what advantages the top agencies have gained, and what they recommend you do to find new clients and keep your workers satisfied.

These events are great for networking too. Even if you attend as a visitor, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to sell your agency. We talk a lot about the value of niches in temporary recruitment – if you’re a leader in a specific market, you’ll find plenty of people who want to learn more. An event like this also attracts plenty of temporary workers and their representatives, giving you new opportunities to fill your database with fresh talent.

Software and Services that Support Temporary Recruitment

If you attend with an open mind, you’ll find a lot of companies who can help you achieve your lofty ambitions. Walking through the venue you’ll find shiny new CRMs and similar software that’s all designed to streamline your processes. ‘AI’ is still the biggest buzzword in business, and you’ll find plenty of AI companies looking to get involved in recruitment.

For a new agency, this can be daunting. In those early years it can be tricky to know where to invest your money, and many agencies fall into the trap of buying into the best software before they’ve polished up their basic operations. That’s why our service is so beneficial for new startups, as our insights and support will go far beyond our all-in-one recruitment funding service, and we’ll help you handle the hurdles and legislation that trips up so many agency owners.

But don’t think that visiting these events only has value for the newbies. If you’re an established agency, it’s vital that you take the time to consider these new innovations, and see how they can benefit you. When you’ve been operating for a while, it’s easy to become stuck in your ways, doing what works for you, but ignoring what could help you take the next major leap. Recruitment is more competitive than ever, it’s vital that you aren’t left behind!

But you need to choose third parties that you can trust, and avoid putting all of your eggs into a basket that may have a hole in it.

How the Recruitment Expo Benefits Us, and You

We always like to attend these events to get a better understanding of our industry, as we mentioned, but it helps us to put feelers out for our next potential client(s). For nearly 30 years, the human touch has been our biggest selling point (that and providing superb service, obviously!).

By meeting people in person, we really get a chance to show that personal touch. With recruitment support, it can be hard to demonstrate exactly what we do in person, but we can sell ourselves, and talk about all the incredible clients we’ve worked with for a long time. At such a popular event, there’s a chance we’ll run into a few of them too!

This all fuels us to be even better at what we do. By choosing Back Office Support Services you get access to:

All for one fee! That’s on top of 3 decades of industry experience, which can point you in the right direction, get you back on track after a slump, or just give you a heads up when there is some new legislation on the horizon.

Although we won’t be booking out the Excel Centre any time soon, we’re still one of the top providers of recruitment funding in the UK, and are always attending events like the Recruitment Expo to expand our horizons. If you do decide to attend, come say hi!

In the meantime, if you have any questions about us or our service, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
